Death due to medical malpractice may lead to New Jersey lawsuits

After the death of a loved one, many individuals may wonder about their best options for dealing with any extenuating factors. In some cases, New Jersey residents may believe that mistakes or negligence on the part of another individual or entity may have led to their loved one's death. Instances involving medical malpractice could potentially lead to legal cases.

One mother in another state recently filed a lawsuit against a hospital after the death of her daughter. The daughter had apparently gone to the hospital due to experiencing leg pain. The staff reportedly took an X-ray of her leg, gave her a leg brace and prescribed medication for her pain before discharging her from the hospital. Three weeks later, the young woman died due to a blood clot in her leg.

Reports stated that the mother believes her daughter did not receive the proper treatment from the hospital staff because the patient did not have insurance. However, the hospital released a statement indicating that a lack of insurance did not impact the treatment provided to the young woman. Nonetheless, the mother is pursuing legal action against the hospital.

Suspecting that improper treatment led to a loved one's death can cause a person's grief to feel amplified. Rather than sitting back and letting these feelings take over, many parties often want to take action, as this case shows. New Jersey residents who believe hospital negligence or other wrongdoing resulted in negative impacts on their families may wish to consider their options for filing medical malpractice claims.
